Thank you so much for your interest in The Insight, by Sheba. I hope you enjoyed this week’s blogs about “Energy.”

Next week’s topic will be “Communication.”

    Friday Review: Happy Reading!

The subject of positive versus negative energy is one that I hold dear. It is difficult to weed out friendships, end budding relationships, and shy away from situations that do not nurture positivity. However, if your overall well-being matters, then protecting your positive energy becomes essential to life balance and preserving personal happiness.

    1.     And the Law of Attraction.

    • Being positive fosters hope for the outcomes that are most optimistic for yourself and others. People that nurture that state of being may be described as having a magnetic, contagious or attractive personality. What purpose does it serve or what do you hope to gain by being negative to yourself or others?

    2.     Are you Positive or Negative?

    • Focus on the aspects of life that allow you to feel positive energy and you will emit and attract the same.

    3.     Is it on Your To D0 List?

    • It is not enough to know what stimulates your positive energy. Make it work for you when you need it. Put your energy stimulating activities into your daily life and reap the benefits of the “feel good” endorphins.

    4.     How do you Give?

    • Receiving positive energy in your life begins with setting a goal to give positivity to every aspect of your life. When you are putting your best self forth you are giving energy and experiencing the positive exchange.

The Insight: Being positive requires hard work, focus, and lots of practice. It has nothing to do with being lighthearted and bubbly. It begins with a solid foundation in optimism for yourself and others and a commitment to preserving personal happiness.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  • Energy . . . How do you Give?

    Posted by Sheba

The Scenario: Are you at a point in your life where you can present your best self to others? Can you give selflessly and experience the exchange of positive energy? When we are bogged down with negative thoughts a simple task like picking up milk from the grocery store becomes as difficult as lifting a car with your bare hands. This is when the negative energy blocks the positive.

“As I give, I get.” ~ Mary McLeod Bethune

How do we reach the point where we emit positive energy in every aspect of life?

    1.     Determine a future course of action by reviewing the upside of the past and asking yourself, “What went right?”

    2.     Hold onto and never stop pursuing your dreams and passions.

    3.     Learn to listen to others patiently and be open to a new perspective no matter how different it may be.

    4.     Give the benefit of the doubt, a second chance, and room for error.

    5.     Focus on the strengths of others, do not compare, be critical, or judgmental.

    6.     Be honest at all times with candor and poise. Walk on eggshells for people. It means you care.

    7.     Admit fears, insecurities, and vulnerabilities to yourself and to others.

    8.     Celebrate the success and accomplishments of others.

    9.     Avoid physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual negative thoughts or influences.

    10.  Envision the person you want to be, create that person from within, and project that image you want others to see.

The Insight: Receiving positive energy in your life begins with setting a goal to give positivity to every aspect of your life. When you are putting your best self forth you are giving energy and experiencing the positive exchange.

  • Energy . . . Is it on Your To Do List?

    Posted by Sheba

The Scenario: Your “To Do” list is filled with activities that leave you void of liveliness and dynamism. How do you replenish and rejuvenate to trigger your positive energy?

What are some techniques for increasing positive energy?

“Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.” ~ Oprah Winfrey

One way to stimulate your triggers is to create a specific “To Do” list in your online calendar for positive energy-stimulating activities.

    Once a week

    • Go tanning for 20 minutes a week as it assists with the production of serotonin
    • Design a perfect day from 8:00am to 8:00pm, communicate your needs to those involved, then execute
    • Make a list of 3 frustrations and practice being optimistic (ABCDE’s)

    Twice a week

    • Revisit your list of likes and perform two of the activities
    • Be social and surround yourself with an uplifting group of people
    • Give yourself a “Daily Gift”

    Three times a week

    • Maintain a physical activity routine . . . work out!
    • Meditate for 10 minutes
    • Send a thank you note or email acknowledging a kindness or service

Monday to Sunday (15 minutes a day)

    • Laugh at least 5 times
    • Be playful with those closest to you
    • Listen to music
    • Give yourself a compliment and eliminate negative self-talk
    • Smile three more times than normal

The Insight: It is not enough to know what stimulates your positive energy. Make it work for you when you need it. Put your energy stimulating-activities into your daily life and reap the benefits of the “feel good” endorphins.

  • Energy . . . and the Law of Attraction

    Posted by Sheba

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

The Scenario: You are wondering what type of energy or image you project that attracts certain types of people.

“Associate yourself with people of good quality, for it is better to be alone than in bad company.” ~

    Booker T. Washington

The Law of Attraction states; that which is like unto itself, is drawn. Like attracts like. It is the idea that positive and negative thoughts attract positive and negative outcomes respectively.

For example, if two people believe that their relationship is difficult, stressful, and not going to last, what happens? Those thoughts become the basis for decisions. If it is already difficult, why work harder? If it is stressful, it is draining. Why try to make it work if it’s not going to last. Negative thoughts result in negative outcomes.

Conversely, if two people believe that their relationship is meant to be, magical, and is going to last forever, then those calming, positive thoughts become the basis for decisions. Since it is meant to be, they will always be together. Since it is magical problems disappear. The relationship is going to last forever so they can relax during stressful times because they have a lifetime to enjoy the good moments. Positive thoughts result in positive outcomes.

The Insight: Being positive fosters hope for the outcomes that are most optimistic for yourself and others. People that nurture that state of being may be described as having a magnetic, contagious or attractive personality. What purpose does it serve or what do you hope to gain by being negative to yourself or others?
